The Brigg Blogg 2023

(or some of the things we have been up to recently, latest first)

12th July- Lord Nelson, Southwold

Very jolly evening with an enthusiastic audience. Rounded off with a HUGE rum 'n raison ice cream (with thanks to '2-cones' Phil, and to Mabel the spaniel who finished mine after I dropped it). Thanks to Paul Ward (from Grenoside!) for the pics

5th July- Low House, Laxfield

Nice to join with Hoxne Hundred in this ever-popular dance spot. Enlivened by the obligatory joint 'Carr Lodge Polka' with the usual issues of figures with different names in a different order, with a different tune- actually didn't make much difference 'cos we haven't danced it in ages and couldn't remember it anyway!

Action shot- what is Janet saying to Malc?

25th June- Chelsworth Open Gardens

Our first visit to this lovely event in this most picturesque of Suffolk villages. A really hot day but luckily a shady dance spot right opposite the fine Peacock Inn. Because we were low on numbers we danced with sets of 4, but it worked fine. Most controversial thing about the day was Ade's flowery shorts.

1st June- Suffolk Show!

A great day, very tiring but worthwhile. Four dance spots around the showground, with a public dance in each. We were very footsore by the end.

4th May- dancing at Sir Robert Hitcham's Primary School for the coronation

All part of our public duty to warn young people of the dangers of getting involved with Morris... not sure if we succeeded but a jolly time was had by all!

26th April- (nearly) St Georges Day first dance of the Summer, Sibton White Horse

A lovely evening with a good audience, good to get going on the dance season proper! Thank you to Neil for his hospitality, it is always a pleasure to dance here

1st April - Halesworth Foolish Day of Dance

Wet, cold, windy- but good fun! Great to be back after a gap of a few years, thank you Zoe for all the organisation

New Year's Day 2023- Plough & Sail

Our traditional NYD dance, with PG and Danegeld, great fun as always!

Boxing Day 2022, Moot Hall, Aldeburgh

Our traditional Boxing Day dance to work off the Christmas pud, a lovely sunny day and as always a rousing occasion!
